Dr. GEORGIANNA’S WORKSHOP

Dr. Georgianna Marie Dwarte is a renowned professional who has been a recipient of many honours and awards in the US and other countries.  Her contribution in the field of education has been long and illustrious.

It is remarkable what she had achieved in the last 12 years.  She has done her bachelors in Early childhood education from Georgia State University.  She has done her Masters in Elementary Education from Edinboro State University, Edinboro Pennsylvania.  She is a doctor of Philosophy in curriculum and instruction, Major in Early Childhood Education, Minor in Reading from the Pennsylvania State University.  The new session this year was welcomed by Dr.Goergianna who has come here from the USA to guide our teachers to understand and implement latest teaching techniques along with making them aware of the do’s and don’ts of teaching.  Presently, she is working with Adams, Endowed professor in the Department of teaching and learning, Bayh College of Education in the Indiana State University in the US.

The topics covered by her were :- Communication encompassing the various types along with the process and barriers in it.  She gave us valuable insights as in the things and methods we could adopt to make it effective.  It also covered the importance of listening in the process of learning and how to implement it.  Her sessions also covered the importance of employing an ‘all inclusive’ policy in which the emphasis was to reach out to all the kids and overcome the challenge of variable, IQs and learning skills.  The following topics were covered Class room mamagement, Independent learning, D.A.P., effects of physical environment, ability grouping, types of mentoring and creation of our action plan inculcating all the above factors.

The teachers were exposed to the trends and concepts that were being followed by the USA and European educationists.  It was very relevant and dynamic, and it was observed that by incorporating her inputs the effectiveness of teaching would be of a better quality and far more effective.  For the children working with Dr.Georgianna was a unique experience.  They really emerged all charged up and the flow of creative ideas astonished one and all.

Dr.Georgianna and the other teachers got together to reiterate our commitment to conserve our environment, as they planted saplings on Environment day. During the pot lunch organized by the staff of SPSS, Dr.Georgianna stressed the importance of team work and the results that can be achieved  throught it.

On 28-06-2019 we bade ferewell to Dr.Georgianna Dwarte with a very heavy heart.  On this occasion we realized the immense work she did in her assignment and created a special place in all our hearts.  Some fought tears and some let some drops shed.  But, the common sentiment was that we will miss her and wait for her to return for another stint here.  We wish her a safe journey and a long and prosperous life.
