Sri Prakash Synergy School, Peddapuram held the seventh edition of DISHA – 2023, a Commence and Management event, exclusively designed, developed, and deployed by the students of Commerce stream of Grades: XI & XII. In what believed to be a unique display of entrepreneurial skills, the event was up for grabs in a range of competitions: Panel discussion, Quizzard, Illumages, Vignettes, and Rule the Roost. Commerce students from as many as twenty schools across Andhra Pradesh actively participated in the competitions. With the entry fee being fixed at Rs. 400, this much-awaited event listed exciting cash prize for overall champion while individual prizes were announced for each competition. The one-day event was indeed witness to brimming confidence and bustling competence on the part of student participants.
DISHA – 2023 event could be best remembered for more than one reason as it was graced by two distinguished guests from New Delhi – Sri Nanda Kumar Das, Vice-President, Strategic Bids & Proposals – Genpact, ex-Submarine Captain, fabulous storyteller, nation builder, Gurugram, Haryana, India, and Prof. Dr. Neelam Tandon, Economics and Finance -JIMS Kalkaji, founder and Managing Director – Well Being Shiksha Foundation, New Delhi, in the capacity of the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honor respectively. Part of the inaugural ceremony, the Chief Guest enunciated that students should come out of their comfort zones to be successful in their lives. He further added that one’s happiness quotient depends on how one is consistent in one’s efforts towards achieving something great. The Guest of Honor Prof. Dr. Neelam Tandon exhorted the students to enrich their entrepreneurial skills by being keenly observant to the constantly fluctuating trends in the markets. She even drew the attention of the student participants to the fact that they should hone inter alia their problem-solving skills and negotiation skills. The director of the school Ch. Vijay Prakash lauded the business interest being showcased by the student participants and made it clear that success in businesses is as much important as that of any other field such as science and technology.
The overall championship which carried a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 was bagged by Apple I school of Vizag while the other competing schools secured different positions 1st/ 2nd/ 3rd in the events Panel Discussion, Poster Design, Quiz, Ad. Making, and PPT. The event was cosponsored by Apex Frozen Foods, NSR Traders, among others. Senior Principal Sri M.V.V.S.Murthy, Prof. S.R. Santhanam, Academic Coordinator Sri Asit Kumar Roy, DISHA Convener Sri Ch. Ramesh, teachers, staff, parents, and students participated.
